One of ELT’s priority areas in research and education is communications engineering and computer networks. We are inviting applications for the position(s) of University Lecturer in the fields of wireless communications and networks as well as contemporary and future computer networks and Internet technologies.
The successful candidate(s) will be expected to contribute to teaching in the fields listed above. The responsibilities of the position(s) also include the planning and development of education, participation in educational administration, and the supervision of theses. The successful candidate(s) must demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality education and supervise students working on their thesis.
Besides teaching, the University Lecturer(s) will devote 30-50 per cent of their time to thesis supervision and research in accordance with the employer’s instructions. The University Lecturer(s) will perform the following tasks:
The position is teaching-intensive, but research is a substantial component of the workload. The successful candidate is expected to hold an applicable doctoral degree and demonstrate the ability to pursue high-quality research, provide high-quality research-based education, and supervise students working on their thesis. In addition, the successful candidate must be familiar with the working methods used in the field of the position and possess good organisational skills.
We expect candidates appointed to a teaching-oriented position to have completed a minimum of 10 credits of pedagogical studies intended for university teachers or other equivalent studies. If the successful candidate has not completed these studies when they join the faculty, they will be expected to complete the studies within two years after the beginning of the employment relationship. We offer the successful candidate(s) a front-row seat to education and research in electronics and communications engineering in a thriving, multidisciplinary and international university. As education is provided in close collaboration with professors, the successful candidate(s) will also have the opportunity to conduct research.
The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the position of a University Lecturer is placed on the job demands levels 6-7. In addition, employees receive performance based salary.

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a trial period of six months.
The position is filled on a permanent basis, commencing on 1 August 2018 or as mutually agreed. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in an aptitude assessment and an evaluation of their teaching skills.
